GUATEMALA BIENNALE - ARTE PAIZ

OUR PROGRAMM.

We have designed a unique 5-day, 4-night journey to experience the Guatemala Biennale. Curated by Angelina Guerrero and Ana Durán, this trip includes visits to the Biennale’s main venues, as well as guided explorations of Guatemala City and Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Participants will enjoy in-depth insights into the artworks and culture, alongside exclusive encounters with the local art scene

Ciudad de Guatemala & Antigua

This year’s curatorship will be led by Eugenio Viola, renowned Italian curator and current Chief Curator of the Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá (MAMBO), ensuring an edition that is particularly relevant and closely aligned with the international contemporary art scene.

This will be the 24th edition of the Paiz Art Biennial, one of the most significant contemporary art events in Central America.

From the colonial Baroque façades and cobblestone streets of Antigua to the grand civic and religious buildings of Guatemala City, the blend of Spanish colonial heritage, indigenous traditions, and modern influences creates a unique architectural tapestry.

 

In Antigua, explore its UNESCO World Heritage streets, where preserved ruins and restored churches whisper stories of the past. In Guatemala City, discover iconic landmarks and modern interventions that dialogue with the country’s layered history.

Gastronomy

This trip offers a curated itinerary that combines art and gastronomy, with visits to some of Latin America’s 50 Best restaurants and authentic local eateries. From refined contemporary creations to traditional dishes, each stop celebrates local ingredients, flavors, and culinary creativity.
